Emile Chouriet, a Geneva manufacture
Located in the canton of Geneva, in the commune of Meyrin, the Montres Chouriet SA manufacture is above all a family story involved in a watchmaking passion and in love for the Geneva region. To understand the birth of "Montres Chouriet SA", you have to go back in time and embark on a journey in two stages, the first at the end of the 17th century and the second just before the year 2000.

In 1685, Emile Chouriet opened his watchmaking workshop in Geneva. He made pocket watch decoration his specialty, some components of which were supplied to him by François Dagobert Depéry. The range of his creative work - from enamelling to guilloché work, including the setting of pearls and the use of gold of different colors - enabled Emile Chouriet to distinguish himself and to be appreciated by the Geneva aristocracy. In the XVIIth century, long before the first manufactures appeared, watchmaking was a craft work which was carried out in a workshop or counter and combined the know-how of several people, like Emile Chouriet the watchmaker sourcing components from François Dagobert Depéry.

This almost magical synergy born of the combination of different talents, of the marriage of different personalities, is a precious asset that Montres Chouriet SA wishes to perpetuate. An "old-fashioned" way of working that can be found and felt nowadays within the walls of the Geneva manufactory.

More than three centuries later, after training in microtechnology, Jean Depéry somehow continues the work of his ancestor, François Dagobert Depéry, embarking on the design and production of watch components. In 1998, in tribute to the past and the family tradition, Jean Depéry founded his own watch brand, Montres Chouriet SA, based in Geneva.

The building housing Montres Chouriet SA is located in Meyrin, a dynamic commune in the canton of Geneva. Inaugurated in 2012, it brings together the Manufacture and the company's various departments under one roof. In 2016, the brand presented its first "in-house" movement, designed within its Manufacture. Three years of development were necessary to give birth to the self-winding caliber EC5318. And for once, it is a "small" movement that today mainly equips women's models, due to the size of the caliber.

Thanks to genius Geneva watchmakers, Montres Chouriet has developed an exceptional movement which allows to visualize the celestial course of the Moon. The decoration of the movement was the subject of very special care. The mother-of-pearl gives a surprisingly realistic rendering of the Moon, it sparkles and highlights the celestial body.
