Apose

There are watches that we look at. Others that we recognize. And then there are those that we understand.

Apose belongs to this category. It doesn't seek to convince. It offers something else: a step aside. Another way of inhabiting time.

Behind this understated elegance lies an uncompromising commitment to excellence. Each watch is born from high-end craftsmanship, honed through a network of 15 partner workshops across France. Every component is custom-made. Nothing is standardized. Nothing is left to chance.

An aesthetic that attracts without overwhelming. A discreet yet distinctive object. Something that stands out without being ostentatious.

Another idea of elegance. Another way of holding time.

Apose N3, Pure, Jet Black

There are blacks that absorb light. The black of Pure Jet Black reflects it.

Its polished dial offers intense depth. But let a ray of light touch it, and the black disappears: the surface becomes a mirror, a dazzling white. The same watch, two faces, depending on the time of day and the angle of view.
This performance is no accident. Achieving such a deep black on a polished surface requires a mastery of finishing that few dials can match.

This piece is perhaps the one that best encapsulates what Apose is all about. A restraint that is never simplistic. A subtle complexity that reveals itself to those who take the time to look.

A true watchmaking factory!

Located in the canton of Geneva, in the municipality of Meyrin, the Montres Chouriet SA manufacture is above all a story of family, a passion for watchmaking, and a love for the Geneva region. To understand the brand's origins, one must go back in time and embark on a two-part journey: the first to the end of the 17th century and the second just before the turn of the millennium.

In 1685, Emile Chouriet opened his watchmaking workshop in Geneva. He specialized in decorating pocket watches, some of whose components were supplied by François Dagobert Depéry. The breadth of his creative work—from enameling and guilloché work to pearl setting and the use of various colored golds—allowed Emile Chouriet to distinguish himself and gain the appreciation of Geneva's aristocracy. In the 17th century, long before the emergence of the first factories, watchmaking was a craft practiced in a workshop or shop, combining the expertise of several people, like Emile Chouriet, the watchmaker who sourced his components from François Dagobert Depéry.

This almost magical synergy, born from the combination of different talents and the marriage of different personalities, is a precious asset that Montres Chouriet SA wishes to perpetuate. It's a way of working in the "old style" that can still be found and felt today within the walls of the Geneva manufacture.

More than three centuries later, after training in microtechnology, Jean Depéry continued, in a way, the work of his ancestor, François Dagobert Depéry, by embarking on the design and production of watch components. In 1998, as a tribute to the past and family tradition, Jean Depéry founded his own watch brand, Montres Chouriet SA, based in Geneva.

The building housing Montres Chouriet SA is located in Meyrin, a dynamic municipality in the canton of Geneva. Inaugurated in 2012, it brings together the manufacture and the various departments of the company under one roof.
And it is indeed a true manufacture, since the brand presented its first "in-house" movement in 2016, designed, developed and manufactured within its own workshop.Three years of development were required to create the self-winding caliber EC5318. And for once, it is a "small" movement which today mainly equips women's models, due to the size of the caliber.

Challenger Cliff

Chronograph

Sporty, robust and designed to adapt to any situation, Emile Chouriet's Challenger Cliff collection perfectly embodies the Geneva-based brand's philosophy, "Be Free, Be Easy". Its latest model, the Challenger Cliff Chronograph, offers useful functions for everyday adventures. Its Dubois-Dépraz chronograph calibre features a 42-hour power reserve, a 30-minute counter at 9 o'clock, a small seconds at 3 o'clock and a date window at 4:30.

Limited edition of 10 pieces...

This model is available again!

The second batch of 5 pieces has just arrived!

When we launched our first Fréret-Roy 1818 watches in 2011, the creation of our brand and our models was based on one idea: to offer our customers the watches they wanted. Our customers regularly asked us for a modern skeleton watch at a still "affordable" price, and that's how our first skeleton watch, the "Coeur Ouvert® Nouvelle Vague", was born.

Why a Tourbillon watch?

As with all our other creations, it was discussions with our clients, or at least some of them, that inspired us to produce a tourbillon watch in a very limited series! These loyal customers expressed a desire to acquire a skeleton tourbillon (our specialty) at a price that would still be "affordable" compared to competing products from established brands or independent watchmakers. That's how we embarked on this new challenge.

Genesis of our Coeur Ouvert® Tourbillon

This new Coeur Ouvert® Tourbillon is equipped with a tourbillon caliber manufactured entirely in Switzerland, in the Jura arc, between Delémont and Vallorbe. The caliber is produced and skeletonized in La Chaux-de-Fonds according to our cutting plans. Our design and model have been registered with the INPI (French National Institute of Industrial Property). As it is entirely produced and skeletonized in Switzerland, it also bears the inscription on the rehaut. "Tourbillon 100% Swiss".

In short...

It is the convergence of the talents of independent watchmakers and myself - as a modest watchmaking entrepreneur - and of course my wife Sophie and our children, as well as the contribution of the first purchasers of our "Coeur Ouvert® Tourbillon" that made it possible to complete its final design, thus giving birth to the first tourbillon produced by an independent French brand, ours. Since then, other French brands have followed us by launching their own tourbillon models, but we were pioneers in this field and our skeleton tourbillon remains unique.

The 100% Swiss components of the in-house manufactured caliber were the obvious choice for our independent French brand, whose family origins date back to the 18th century in Couvet, Switzerland, also known as the "Val de Travers," a well-known village in the Canton of Neuchâtel. Our Swiss roots alone justify our choice of a Swiss caliber.

Maël Oberkampf

Founder of Timeless

Both timeless and original!

The Timless Watch collection was conceived in Vevey, Switzerland, in 2017 by Maël Oberkampf, a Swiss graphic designer and illustrator who has been passionate since childhood about industrial design in all its forms. This watch is a synthesis of the curved lines of early 20th-century industrial design and a more contemporary, pared-back style. The meeting of design's past and future is embodied in the timelessness of this timepiece.

This timepiece plays with curves, textures and depth, combining powerful forms and subtle details, simplicity and complexity. Our source of inspiration? Switzerland's industrial heritage, which made the country famous and shaped its pioneering image. Vintage locomotives, heavy machinery, industrial tools and the iconic cylindrical turbines of dams... all these creations have fuelled our imagination and guided our aesthetic choices in designing this watch.

The model below is the latest evolution unveiled by the brand...

THE STORY OF RICCARDO ZANNETTI...

is anything but ordinary.

His journey began long ago, inspired by Riccardo Zannetti's passion for beauty, painting and the figurative arts.

From a young age, he attended art school, where he discovered his true talent for drawing.

Drawing on his family's experience in watchmaking and artistic creation, in the 1980s Riccardo Zannetti began producing small runs of gold and silver watches, distinguished by graphic references to Roman and Greek art and by their classic shapes. Greek symbols soon became his signature, while the frog would be his lucky charm for years.

His distinctive specialisation, the growing number of artisans involved and the applied arts used in crafting his timepieces quickly made the Zannetti workshop one of the most important and best-known, attracting clients from
the United States, Germany, France, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Middle East.

Each timepiece bears an artistic touch and a personal approach to watchmaking—two qualities that only very limited production can guarantee.

The "Regatta" watch featured here is undoubtedly one of my favourites from the Roman brand.

"Time of Drivers"

The "Time Of Drivers" watches fully express Zannetti's philosophy.

Meticulous finishing, the finest materials and an extremely complex dial, entirely handcrafted. The crown is engraved with a Dunlop tire tread, while the reset button is shaped like a gearshift. Time of Drivers models are available in a traditional version with three counters or a Racing edition with two vertical counters.

The available dials depict legendary Ferraris and Alfa Romeos, Jaguars or Rolls-Royces, but any car model—including your own—can be reproduced on the dial, hand-painted and crafted for you to order.
