Paul Picot is a brand that is, to say the least, original and unclassifiable! Created out of pure passion for watchmaking by the Italian entrepreneur Mr. Mario Boiocchi in 1976, at the time of quartz, in the midst of the collapse of traditional watchmaking, the brand has always stood out for its originality mixed with classicism.


Its credo can be summed up in three words: Artisan - Watchmaker - Swiss. Or its slogan: "Passion for detail."


Paul Picot's leitmotif is to combine Swiss watchmaking tradition with constant technical innovation, in a timeless style. A unique dimension of luxury without ostentation, authentic pieces where quality is omnipresent and without compromise, allowing Paul Picot to hold its own when compared to the leaders of Swiss watchmaking. Annual production is around 4,000 watches distributed across twenty countries worldwide, which guarantees appreciable exclusivity.


Paul Picot calibers are often from the ETA manufacture, but are always reworked and presented in the most high-end finishes. There are also high-quality old historical calibers such as the Venus 310 Chronograph or the Lemania 1883 or even the ultra-thin (3.15mm) double-barrel automatic caliber Lemania 8810 (a manufacture now integrated into Breguet)...

Dials have always been the subject of the most attentive care, and Paul Picot is one of the few artisanal brands to offer grand feu enamel dials at still affordable prices, as evidenced by the Atelier or Firshire GMT Grand Feu models. All the crystals are made of anti-reflective sapphire, and the transparent casebacks are also made of sapphire.

The details of this new Gentleman model are numerous, from the column-wheel movement to the guilloché dial and the unusual color combination inspired by the informal style of the men's BLAZER. On the other hand, the elegance of style is always hidden in the details; in the case of a men's blazer, there is also the ability, not for everyone, to skillfully combine different colors and fabrics. The Blazer jacket should contrast with the trousers in color or shade depending on the occasion and the personality of the wearer. The wearer's attitude will be decisive! As well as the wrist!


And yes, because for the first time, or rather among the rare times, a watch brand is trying to combine different colors between the counters and the bottom of the dial that are not the traditional pandas. Combinations as bold as they are original, typical of Paul Picot!


These first models are offered in Blue/Grey and Grey/Blue combinations... but Meadow Green and Dark Chocolate are also available. The base of the dial is further personalized with a grid guilloché pattern reminiscent of that of the legendary Paul Picot C-Type Diver.

History

Gentleman is one of Paul Picot's most iconic collections, first presented 25 years ago! It owes its name to the typical style of late 19th-century English elegance, as depicted on the backgrounds of the first references from the 1990s.

The timeless cases with finely fluted bezels are available in two sizes: 42mm or 40mm on request, and are available in 18kt rose or white gold or steel.

The bezels of the steel or 18kt gold cases can be set with diamonds or not. There are 62 F-VVS diamonds for the bezels of the 42 mm cases.

The calibers of the Atelier models are COSC certified.

"Cherry Blossom"

Paul Picot also produces ladies' watches, especially with automatic calibers, which is not so common in today's watchmaking world where most ladies' watches are equipped with quartz movements.


The Atelier collection is Paul Picot's most accomplished collection. It is also designed for women who love aesthetic and technical perfection. It houses very flat, high-quality automatic calibers that adapt very well to women's wrists, but these atypical models also, and above all, feature original and feminine dials, some of which, like those presented here, are hand-painted by highly talented miniature artists.


The timeless cases with finely fluted bezels are available in three sizes: 30 mm, 33 mm or 38 mm, and are available in steel, steel with an 18kt gold bezel or 18kt rose gold. The bezels can be set with F-VVS diamonds or not, or even, upon request, lacquered in one of the dial colors.


The dials are hand-worked in solid silver or natural mother-of-pearl, and the floral dials of the limited "Cherry Blossom" series are hand-painted.

The dials are hand-painted miniatures and are passed through a kiln heated to between 800 and 900°C several times.

The Gentleman collection is the expression of sport-chic elegance as seen by Paul Picot!
The Minoia chronograph, in a limited edition of 100 pieces, is the centerpiece of this Gentleman collection.
Francisco Minoia, of Italian nationality like the owners of the Paul Picot brand,
was the most famous pilot of his time, as you can read on the back of the Minoia Chronograph.
He won the Coppa Florio in 1907 (on Isotta-Fraschini) and in 1927 the first edition of the Mille Miglia!
In 1931, he received the International Grand Prix for Drivers (in an Alfa Romeo).
This chronograph celebrates both the driver Francisco Minoia whose name it bears... and the first 1000 Miglia race!

Here are the models of the latest generation of this watch which has become iconic for the brand in Italy!
The C Type 43 presented below was personalized by Paul Picot for Fréret-Roy with a hand-finished satin finish on the case, its matte black bezel with raised polished numerals is its original signature.
The C-Type collection comes in four sizes: 48, 43, 38, and 32 mm. All models feature solid steel casebacks, screw-down crowns, and rotating or diamond-set bezels. Bronze is in!
The Paul Mariner is a very classic diver's watch, but it's much less so in its marine bronze version, a special, wear-resistant alloy of bronze and aluminum with improved anti-corrosion properties. Marine bronze is particularly used in shipbuilding and nautical equipment. The natural oxidation of the bronze and its unpredictable patina create individual and unique timepieces.
